Zdiar - Strednica is separated into two parts; Zdiar is a traditional village, 30km north of Poprad, in the eastern part of High Tatras, near the Polish border and Strednica is the larger of the two nearby ski resorts (the other being Bachledova Dolina). Indeed, in terms of transport capacity, the ski resort at Zdiar - Strednica with its 5,530 person per hour lift is the largest ski area in the whole of the Tatra mountains. Strednica offers exclusively beginner to early-intermediate skiing on 12 easy slopes; great for families with children. Zdiar - Strednica has a reasonably good snow record. The distance to Stary Smokovec is 33 km (forty minutes by car in the winter season).
