Shanty Creek in the United States (Michigan State) is a large resort with 11 lifts (7 chair lifts, 4 surface lifts) but it only has 137 metres (450 feet) of vertical descent. Shanty Creek has 85 acres of terrain over 46 trails. Shanty Creek is best suited to beginner skiers and snowboarders but there is some terrain for both expert and intermediates. There are 30 kilometers (19 miles) of cross country ski trails at Shanty Creek. For snowboarders, there are 2 terrain parks. All of the trails at Shanty Creek are covered by snowmaking. The nearest airport is at Chicago. There is accommodation located close to the pistes but we would welcome additional information about any hotels or chalets in Shanty Creek.
