Guía de Estación de Esquí Prat Peyrot / Mont Aigoual

Prat Peyrot is located on the slopes of Montagne de l' Aigoual in the beautiful Cevennes, near the village L'Espérou, which is only 1h.30 drive from Nîmes and Montpellier. Prat Peyrot offers fairly low altitude (1440m), but reasonably priced (15€ per day) skiing from December to March. 65 snow cannons are on hand to maintain snow cover in poor seasons. However, Prat Peyrot is surprisingly good because Mont Aigoul is one of the wettest/snowiest places in France on account of being exposed to both Atlantic and especially Mediterranean weather systems (e.g. 10.39 metres of snow were recorded in the Winter of 1995-1996, with 2.6m accumulations). It can be very cold and windy too (-28 C has been recorded). Prat Peyrot has 15 mixed ability and tree-lined pistes with a vast network of ski touring trails covering 60km.
