Scafell Pike, in the Lake District, is here by popular demand because it is the highest point in England. The only skiing to be done at Scafell Pike is back country stuff, and other Lakeland fells are better suited to that pursuit anyway. Because of the proximity of the Irish sea to Scafell Pike, snow tends to be more reliable in the North Pennines.

Scafell Pike has a winter that is very cold, averaging 37 inches of snow only in the month of January. The snow usually stops by the end of March-early April and the place reaches a maximum of 80 degrees fahrenheit in a year. The snow starts again in late October-early November.
